My Story

As a Beachbody Coach I come across many people that want to change their lives for the better, but have no idea where to start. The passion I developed for helping others reach their health and fitness goals through my own journey has led me to a place where I can motivate and inspire others to start theirs.

I am a 30 year old mother of 2 beautiful children, Avery age 6 and Bryce 5. I began my fitness journey January 6, 2014 after I decided to join a Challenge Group. This group changed my life FOREVER!

I had always been very active and athletic in high school. I never had to worry about my weight and could pretty much eat whatever I wanted. By my mid twenties I was your typical yo-yo dieter. I was working a full time job, a part time job, and married. I joined several gyms, hired 2 personal trainers, and just couldn't commit to the time frame of driving to the gym, changing, working out, driving home, etc.... It was too much and I eventually stopped going.

I had back to back pregnancies and was pregnant for 20 out of 24 months.... my body was not having it. I had never felt so miserable in my own skin. No matter how much I looked at the precious, most adorable babies I just helped create, I couldn't help but feel absolutely horrible about myself. Most people would say "STOP you just had a baby" or "You don't look that bad" but this wasn't just about how I looked~it had everything to do with how I felt.

I ordered Power 90 off of an infomercial while being up in the middle of the night with one of my babes. At this time, coaching was not a big thing and I just did it myself. I had the motivation b/c I was so miserable. I lost all of my baby weight plus some by doing this program and felt awesome. But once the program was done and the weight was lost, I slowly started reverting back to old habits. I never learned how to keep it off nor did I have the accountability to keep going.

**Flashback** Since I was 16 both of my parents have battled some sort of cancer. If it wasn't one, it was the other. March 7,2013 my mother gave Cancer the Cancel button and released her wings in heaven. Her fight changed my life in many ways. I was angry, sad, confused, and it ripped me to my core. She was my best friend, my biggest supporter, my biggest annoyance, and everything in between. That's what mothers are, and she was the best. During her 18 month "terminal" period I never realized that I stopped taking time for myself. My routine was kids, mom, work, kids, mom. I will never resent those times but didn't realize until after her passing that I LOST myself during those times too.

December 2013 I remember looking in the mirror in just my bra and underwear bawling my eyes out. My husband walked in the room and just hugged me assuming I was upset that the Holidays were approaching and I missed my mom. The truth was~ The woman staring back at me through that mirror was NOT the woman I was meant to be or that my mom would want me to be. She would want me to stop dwelling and start living. Get back to being me and to be the best Mom I could be to my own children.

I kept seeing this girl from High School post about these challenge groups she was running through Beachbody on Facebook. I knew their programs worked because I lost all my weight through one of them..... however, I did not have the motivation this time and needed HELP. So I messaged her about joining. She told me about these awesome groups that I knew I NEEDED, so I joined.

What stood out to me about these Challenge Groups:
~Time efficient: Being that I am a mother and work Full Time, I do not have the extra time to drive to the gym, change, workout, change again, make sure the hubby can watch the kids, or feel guilty about placing them in a gym daycare with someone that knows nothing about children while I am on the elliptical/use weights that I didn't know how to use..... I can workout in my basement before they get up, after they go to bed, or they can workout with me or play behind me and watch me..... Those little eyes pay attention to everything we do.
~Money saver: Paying for a monthly gym membership-I bet many of us know how that goes, we pay for a gym, go months without stepping foot in a gym and you cant cancel for 12 months. With these programs, I pay for the fitness program and get the program FOREVER, plus a fitness expert on the DVD telling me exactly what to do (hello Dave Ramsey~I just got my membership and a personal trainer for 1~talk about getting the best bang for your buck)
~Each program comes with a nutrition guide: For once, a company focuses on both aspects of a healthy weight loss... BOTH exercise AND nutrition!
~Each program has a Calendar/Schedule to Follow: You follow each day on the calendar, and can work your rest day in that best fits your week
~There is a program out there for EVERYONE: Based on your Intensity level, and if you have any restrictions from injuries (I was still recovering from a major foot surgery)

What is a Beachbody Challenge??
As a Beachbody coach, I hold closed groups on Facebook where I work 1:1 with YOU to help you reach your health and fitness goals..
HOW does this work??
~You pick your workout program and follow the schedule and nutrition guide
 ~I give you daily motivation
~I provide my challengers with healthy recipes
~I provide my challengers with meal plans and help them make their own if they need help
~We take before and after pictures to help track our progress of our journey
~Challengers check in DAILY: Take 2 minutes to say how your day went.... Did you complete your daily workout, did you drink your Shakeology and how did you eat?? Rate your food on a scale 1-5, 5 being the best and 1 being I totally fell off the wagon!

 * If you are willing to commit to this Beachbody Challenge, I PROMISE YOU RESULTS!!
The only way you will NOT get the results you are looking for, is if you do not follow the program.

After joining my first Challenge Group, I noticed many things. I lost 32 pounds and 17 inches in 60 days. I know we are all looking for the number always ;) However, the most impactful change to me was how I felt. Since I started drinking Shakeology I noticed less bloating, my energy was increased, and I was able to feel full longer without those sweet cravings all the time. I could finish a meal without thinking I needed something sweet to finish it off. My husband, family, and friends also noticed changes in my attitude as well. I was happier, and motivating others to change their lives for the better. I was becoming Carley again.

Today, I am still on my journey to reach my ultimate goal. I refuse to put a number on that goal because through all of this I have learned I am much more than a number. My moods reflect my happiness, my happiness reflects positivity amongst others, I've learned so much about health and nutrition, and most importantly I am a happy, fun, full of energy MOM! I know I will know when I get to that "ultimate" number, but as I continue this journey I'm enjoying the ride!
